The name Things Jamaican has been synonymous over the years with quality Jamaican-made art and craft products. Established in the 1960’s by the then government and the Social Development Commission, the main purpose was to bring structure to the craft industry in Jamaica.
What was done
Things Jamaican is the no. one shop for authentic Jamaican creations. My challenge was to streamline the shopping experience, so customers can find, curate, and buy their favorite locally made products with minimal effort.
Pinpointing and explaining what makes Things Jamaican so effective would be the key to success for this project. Once I understood the positive impact their crafts has on the overall development of Brand Jamaica, I was even more excited about helping JBDC spread the word about the products to the appropriate audiences.
Showcasing the precision and design of these locally made crafts required an elegant design that complimented the beauty of the products.
The new Things Jamaican website streamlined the experience for both new and existing customers. In the end, it captures the heart and mind of the users worldwide.
